The saga of writing a Science Fiction book

Well I have just completed the first draft of the website and now for the very first entry in my blog.

I started to write my book on a whim really. I had thought about it often enough but like many other people it was always a case of ‘Perhaps I will when I have time’.

I had a few weeks previously watched a film I enjoyed. I liked it so much I decided I had to buy the book it was taken from. In most cases the book is far better and gets you more involved.

I ordered it from Amazon and looked forward to a good read. When it arrived I was disappointed  with the thickness, it was less than 190 pages of actual story. Still I gave it a chance.

Quite frankly it was rubbish. The film script writers had done a wonderful job making a good film from such a rubbish book. I had read it in four hours and the most overwhelming thought I had was ‘I can do better than that’

So I sat in a hotel room a few weeks later with my laptop and just started to type.
